The idea
What is a Machi?
In Maratha fort architecture, a Machi was the plateau below the main fort — a place where people gathered, rested, prepared and continued their journey.
But a Machi was more than a defensive outpost. It was where life happened — a place for travellers, soldiers, communities and celebrations. A place to pause before the journey continued.
So we built one.
